Purple Belt Technique Details

Spinning Rear Kick

  1. Twist body around facing away from attacker.
  2. Rear kick with right, plant foot toward attacker.
  3. Swing right leg back to cover.

Eagle Pin A

Two attackers. Attacker in front throwing a right punch. Attacker in back has his arms around your waist.
  1. Right inward block, forward snap kick to the groin.
  2. Plant right leg out to the right, drive arms down to break the hold.
  3. Turn left 90-degrees into a hard bow driving left elbow to attacker's head, right hammer fist to the groin.
  4. Cat stance facing right.
  5. Right thrust kick. Cross cover left.

Eagle Pin B

Two attackers. Attacker in front throwing a right punch. Attacker in back has his arms around your waist.
  1. Right inward block, forward snap kick to the groin.
  2. Plant right leg out to the right, drive arms down to break the hold.
  3. Left hela-hand to the solar plexus, rake down.
  4. Eagle claw to the groin, drive elbow up to the attacker's chin. Cross cover left.

Kickbox P1

  1. Right uppercut. Left uppercut.
  2. Cross. Jab.
  3. Spinning rear kick.

Cresent to Knife-Edge Kick

  1. Cresent kick. Follow through turning 90 degrees.
  2. Knife-edge kick.

Flashing Wings

Attacker throwing right punch.
  1. Step forward left. Left inward block.
  2. Bring right elbow across attacker's ribs as you go into a hardbow. Arms end up crossing in front of your body.
  3. Extend both elbows striking the attacker in the back with the right elbow.
  4. Right chop to the attacker's neck.
  5. Twist to the right, broken bow stance and left chop to the attacker's neck.
  6. Right under-hand chop to the attacker's neck sweeping into a heela hand hard bow.

Kickbox P2

  1. Shuffle jab.
  2. Shuffle cross.
  3. Shuffle heel hook.

Kung-Fu Cross A

Attacker throwing a right punch.
  1. Step back with right leg. Left outward block to counter-grab.
  2. Forward snap kick to groin.
  3. Plant foot toward attacker. U-grab to the throat.
  4. Pull arm behind head and down. Breaking arm and ripping at throat. Cross-cover out.

Kung-Fu Cross B

Attacker throwing a left punch.
  1. Step back with right leg. Left outward block to counter-grab.
  2. Step up with right, break arm with right elbow.
  3. Left hammer fist to groin. Step back right to cover.

Front Leg Heel Hook

  1. Bring knee up pointing 45-degrees.
  2. Extend leg fully
  3. Sweep leg back starting motion with hips and completing by bending the knee.

Wing Break

Attacker coming from right side with their left arm on your shoulder.
  1. Step right. Grab their hand with your left hand.
  2. Circle right arm around and trap their arm against your body.
  3. Circle arm around again ending up with your forearm against the attacker's shoulder blade.
  4. Step back left and throw the attacker down using a hard-bow.

Kickbox P3

  1. Hook, uppercut.
  2. Jab, cross.
  3. Chicken kick.

Triple Front Kick

  1. Forward snap kick.
  2. Turn 90-degrees, knife-edge kick.
  3. Turn an additional 90-degrees, plant foot, rear kick.

Rising Knee

Attacker throwing a right punch.
  1. Left inward block. Right soft-hand upper block follow through to a punch.
  2. Grab their shoulder Right knee up and pull them into the knee.
  3. Plant right leg back pulling them down too. Left chop to the spine going to broken knee stance.
  4. Right chop to the kneck again, broken knee stance.

Side Handstaff

Attacker swinging a staff using their right.
  1. Step up right. Double soft-hand block.
  2. Left hand grabs the attacker's arm.
  3. Pull attacker in with left hand and right elbow to the head.

Chicken Kick

Flash of Silver A

Attacker coming at you with a knife.
  1. Feet together, right crescent kick to rear kick.
  2. Cross-cover out.

Flash of Silver B

Attacker coming at you with a knife from above.
  1. Step back left. Guard throat with right arm.
  2. Right speed thrust kick.
  3. Cross-cover out.

Shuffle Front Heel

  1. Step up with rear foot with toes right behind the front heel.
  2. Bring knee up pointing 45-degrees.
  3. Extend leg fully
  4. Sweep leg back starting motion with hips and completing by bending the knee.

Plucking the Bird

Attacker throwing a right punch
  1. Step forward left. Left soft-hand block. Step up right to cat stance. Right punch to the face.
  2. Step forward right. Double chop.
  3. Grab attacker's shoulders and throw them down over your right leg.
  4. Scooping kick to the ribs. Heel kick to the body/face.
