The Storm
by Asten
(February 2010, age 11)
The wind is strong
The air is cold
Snow is piling higher and higher.
But there's no place I'd rather be.
I'm snuggled up, warm and cozy.
Sipping hot cocoa by the fire.
We're buried under sweaters, scarfs, gloves and blankets.
Through this storm, we hope we make it.
The weather says it will last day and night.
But we're together, happy and warm.
We don't at all mind this storm.
It can't dampen our spirits, try as it might.
We're watching a movies,
and playing fun games,
and we're all laughing with one another.
And we like these storms,
because you see,
they bring us all together.
